How can i promote my website?

Do you know how to promote my website? Im just a programmer and the marketing and SEO stuff is too difficult for me. What’s the best way for a newbie?

    Facebook,and some Q&A site,seems pretty effective.

    Close w/ a signature that includes your website link

    If you can write, you can always try guest blogging. Offer to write articles for free in exchange for a link back to your website.

      My website is an Q & A website. I think is not a good idea to start post this on other blogs.

      You are right about not posting or spamming other blogs. On moderated forums like this one, the post would most likely be deleted. I actually considered that with Abrar's post but I left the first 2 links because they have been around for a while and the checks I ran came up clean on them. The last one didn't have any kind of ratings, but I could find no indications of malware on the site, the few posts all seem to be original works that do not appear to be scraped from other sites, and you may find them relevant.
