I broadly agree with Jan and HA14. You don't need to replace all the drivers, since the Windows ones are quality-tested and up to date, but using the manufacturer's video drivers can make a significant difference.

In terms of quality, the the best solution is to download the drivers from from the manufacturer (Dell in your case). If you want to automate the process, then you could use DriverPack (which is similar in concept to Microsoft's solution, but with a different selection of drivers) or SlimDrivers which you can download from slimwareutilities.com which will search for updated versions and in my experience works very well.

    Hello,

Since most "automatic" driver update software are scam, the most secure way to install an appropriate drivers for your computer if you look on official manufacturer sites for them.

Of course, to know that you need to actually know what is inside of your computer. There is such software which might help you out with that, I would recommend you the following ones:

    a.) https://www.piriform.com/speccy or
    b.) http://www.hwinfo.com/

No matter which one you choose, the both software are free and they will give you every single hardware information of your computer.

Once you know what too look for, you can easily use Google and find drivers in a few seconds.

    Hope this will help you!

well the best drivers are from the hardware manufacturers as Jan F suggest visit their site
    http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Products/?app=drivers
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool
    http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?wapkw=intel%C2%AE+driver+update+utility.
    http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/iduufaq?wapkw=driver+scan

windows performance can slow down if drivers are corrupted and yes you should install the drivers again, some drivers depending on your system can cause problems (bugs) so reverting to older version is recommended.

Running the latest drivers doesn't necessarily mean getting the highest performance. For the most part, Windows update will provide the suggested (and tested) drivers for your devices for your respective Windows version.

At best you might want to look for the latest graphics card driver at the manufacturers homepage (AMD/NVIDIA). This would also the best option for the other individual components of your computer.

However, some drivers come bundled with certain tools and applications these days and it's not always possible to install them separately. Therefor you might end up with a "less optimized" system duo to background services and applications which you don't really need.
