Recently, my Windows XP computer’s hard drive failed. I have the product code and I was wondering if it is possible to dual-boot it with Windows 8? If it is possible without uninstalling Windows 8, what are the steps to do it?

Editor’s note: Might also be worth pointing out any benefits to doing this, or whether it’s a waste of time or not.

Firstly,if your HDD reliability is in question, then you must be very careful about storing important data into it.Try checking the HDD with software called CrystalDiskInfo.

If there's not much life left or its condition is worse, then stop using it as anytime, the data can get lost.
