I have created a few smart mailboxes but my emails are not transferring to them… why?

I am using OS X Mavericks 10.9.

i think a smart mailbox is just a virtual mailbox showing mails which match certain rules, you can't physically move mail into a smart mailbox.

Are you using the latest version of Mail? It should be 7.2.

Click on Mailbox, and in the drop down menu, select Create Smart Mailbox ..., enter your conditions, for example, you can create a Smart Mailbox, title it today, and specify to "contain messages that match all of the following conditions", specify condition as "Date received" "is today." Then press okay.

You will see a smart mailbox titled "Today" that will contain all mail received today.

Verify that you're using the latest version of Mail by going to the Mail app and choosing About Mail. Then, right click on one of your smart mailboxes and click Edit Smart Mailbox ... Check your conditions indicated to make sure that you have set them up properly.

I'll need more information or examples from you to know what's going on.
