How can I fix crash issues with Firefox?

Firefox has started to exit suddenly. I can re-start it with no problem but sometimes it just stays open only a few minutes.  Sometimes it does not open very fast.

All the advice above is good. I'd do it as follows:
    - Make sure you have the latest version of FF installed.
    - Empty the cache (menu, History=>Clear recent History, and choose to clear "everything" and include cache, cookies and active logins).
    - Disable all addons. If the problem resolves itself, start enabling the addons one by one until you find out which one caused the problem in the first place.

Resetting the browser will empty the cache and remove all the add-ons, so you could do that, but you will then need to re-download every add-on you want to use, rather than simply re-enabling it.

Perhaps an extension could be causing problems. Click the Firefox button in the top left-hand corner and choose "Add-ons." Does anything listed there look shady or out of place? If you have a lot, try disabling a few that aren't necessary and see if that helps.

Try updating your Firefox to latest version i.e. 27.0.1 as it seems you have version 27.It also have some of its own set of issues as mentioned in the below article -

If the problem still persists after updating, then try rolling back to version 26 and wait for version 28 which might fix all such issues.
