How can I deactivate my deceased sister’s Facebook account?

My sister passed away in January. None of us know her password to Facebook and we want to permanently deactivate her account. Please advise how this can be done. It’s upsetting to us that people keeping posting to her timeline.

    Thanks Susendeep D but I can't seem to figure out how to select one answer and I don't know what you mean by a "tick mark icon".

      He's referring to the gray circle with a checkmark in it above the voting buttons on the left hand side of the comment.
