July 25, 2012you can always make websites with notepad or any other text editor. but you need development software to make the job easy. the development software points out errors for you, makes editing easy and so on, but if you already know which language you want to use then you can start notepad and start building your website
In this case, Notepad IS your development software. Ask professionals who do this on a daily basis. The software you use for development IS your development software. And when it comes to developing web pages, many developers ONLY use notepad for their markup in order to make it more efficient than Dreamweaver or other tools. If you will be using a hosting provider instead of hosting your own server, many of them provide online tools for building your website as part of the package so you do not need to invest in other software and still have a simpler way to build your site without having to learn all of the details of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript right away – although you will probably want to learn in order to have better control over how your site looks and feels.
July 25, 2012True. And coding for the web is not that difficult anyway.

July 25, 2012You can make a website in notepad, but you would need to know the web languages
HTML which is the markup language, CSS which is a language that defines a tag in HTML with a style, appearance, location, animation, etc. JavaScript not to be confused with Java which is a prototype-based scripting language, and PHP which is a Hypertext Preprocessor is a widely used, general-purpose scripting language, but to make a basic website all you need to know is HTML but it would be table based and not very aesthetic, so to make a proper website you should ideally know html and css which both are very simple, software wise i personally use adobe dreamweaver CS6 which is a great software because it makes everything easier and more productive, but if that is out of your price range or you don’t want to buy a software then i would recommend sublime text 2 it is a great code editor and will greatly simplify your web design process, and it is free, also if you don’t know HTML or CSS then check out w3schools.com for a free course on any web language you can imagine, i learned HTML there, but i learned CSS through trial and error and just experimentation. I know what your thinking right now, when i started web development i had no idea where to start, if you need any help go ahead and send me an email at gsingh@outcastlabs.com

July 26, 2012You don’t really need a development software at all. You can use even Microsoft Word to create websites. It’s that simple.
Alternatively, you can use a service with CMS (content management system) like WordPress. You will just have to use a simple text editor inside CMS to upload everything to your site. For design, you can use free themes. You don’t have to do anything but just pick a theme you like.
There are plenty of other options since CMS are common these days. You can even use Blogger.

July 27, 2012You MUST use WordPress! It is by far the easiest and best way to build a website without having ANY knowledge in web development. Best part is it’s free, and there are thousands of free, awesome themes for you to download.
Be careful with WordPress. If you don’t know what you’re doing, sites built with WordPress are hacked more often than non-WordPress sites.
July 29, 2012Not if you stay updated they’re not.

August 16, 2012Why dont you go with “introduction level” by making a site on wordpress.com? that way you could get initial “feeling”.. in case you want to do your own html/css there are plenty of books. if you are in school/student, there is dreamspark. not only can you get free tools there but also links to get you started.
