Why do browser downloads stop until I move the mouse?

I’ve noticed sometimes with Firefox that occasionally my mouse will start behaving odd, where any download will pause unless I move the mouse. The download progress literally stops, until I move the mouse around and the file (or web page) will continue to download. It’s the oddest thing I’ve ever seen. Does anyone have any idea why this happens?

    Did you changed any mouse parameters?
    Perhaps resetting mouse parameters will help.
