Which brand names for desktop speakers would you recommend?

Please mention the speaker reliability for medium good sound intensity ( not necessarily very loud , but not too low in loudness ) and size also (medium or small).

Please weblink to Amazon.in or eBay.in (Not “.com”).

For basic loudspeakers (not for Hi Fi type of use), go with Logitech.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with many of the brands sold in India, so can only recommend Logitech on that basis.

M-Audio M40's (or 30's) for $100 or less. Been 4 years and I haven't found a better option at that budget yet.
    http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-Studiophile-Active-Monitor-Speakers/dp/B0051WAM64/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

An interesting one would be the Boston Acoustics Soundware XS 2.1 at $180 for the optic in and bluetooth abilities.
    http://www.amazon.com/Boston-Acoustics-Soundware-Digital-Cinema/dp/B0085VB8GQ/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1392284381&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=boston+acoustics+xs

Approaching $300 or more, I would look at decent sets like the DT Pro Cinema 60.6's
    http://www.amazon.com/Definitive-Technology-Cinema-60-6-System/dp/B001GOK9GE/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1392284405&sr=1-2&keywords=pro+cinema+60
or floor standing speakers with subs built in like the PolkAudio Monitor 70's/75T's:
    http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Monitor-75T-Cherry/dp/B009WW4GRA/ref=sr_1_6?s=aht&srs=2530178011&ie=UTF8&qid=1392284461&sr=1-6&keywords=polk+audio
and a receiver or amp of choice.

Thanks. I have viewed "your" speakers. Please tell why are there varying prices for speakers within Logitech. Do they differ in terms of woofer , sound intensity , size , advanced features , ... or what : which makes the price range within Logitech models so varying?

      February 14, 2014 at 6:30 pm

well it can be date when different logitech speakers were made, perhaps other technologies involved with new ones...as you said advanced features like bluetooth connectivity, usb port....

Thanks. Please tell How is woofer helpful? Can woofer be removed and only speakers be used in a speaker set having woofer?

    • Hovsep A
      February 18, 2014 at 5:17 pm

the thing is i dont know how windows will recognize the speakers as 2.1 or else? then if it is not well recognized then you get sound problems. Removal of the woofer will not redirect bass to your other speaker drivers just because the woofer is no longer available or out of the circuit.
