I have installed Ubuntu to my computer which has been operated on Windows XP. When I shut down my computer and then restart it later I am asked which OS system I wish to chose. I click on Ubuntu and it brings me to the DOS page of its operating system. How do I get it to open up so I can use it (what are the commands)?

Have you formatted the system before installing Ubuntu or are you dual booting. Can you boot to the installation cd and run it as a live cd?

    Kallie,

I'm no expert on Ubuntu so I'm not sure if you can get it to boot or not, but check out this webpage to see if you installed everything properly:
