Can I boot from an ISO file using my hard drive without any physical disk or USB stick?

Do any of you guys know if it is possible to boot from a ISO file on your HDD without use of a CD, DVD or USB?

      riz, you obviously did not understand the question. Your link shows nothing re: booting from an ISO file.

    In a virtual machine, yes. Otherwise no, thats impossible.

    Do you want to use an iso like Ubuntu OS without burning it to cd? Yes you can get iso file booted without burning it to cd/usb. For this purpose you need to use Oracle VM VirtualBox from http://dlc.sun.com/virtualbox/vboxdownload.html and than install it on your operating system and open it than open iso file and you will be able to boot it without any cd , dvd or usb.
