What’s the most user friendly and easy to use batch renaming software for Windows 7?

I’m downloading some old anime episodes that are no longer on TV, and seeing how I’ll to rename a bunch of episodes, I’ll have to do a lot of renaming.

I want to something like this

S03_EP_01
S03_EP_02

etc.

If anyone can recommend something, I’d most appreciate it.

I personally vote for Total Commander. It has a fantastic multi-rename option, and can do lots of other things as well. When I need to batch-rename files, that's what I use.

It can number them serially, do string replacements (including complex regex), and lots of other goodies. Highly recommended.

you dont need a software for that ....whatever names does you file have:
1.arrange the files into the order you want to name in one folder.
    hide extension via folder options
    then select all the files
    now right click and rename
the last file will get focus for rename:
    name it
    S03_EP_0
    press enter.
you are done ! I have done it a lots of time ! but in xp should work on w7 too.
