How can I automatically turn my Galaxy S II on or off?

Phoebe asks:

I owned a Blackberry and it could automatically turn off at night and turn back on in the morning. I can’t figure out how to do this on my Galaxy S II. Is there an app?

Timeriffic perhaps can help on android

you would need something at the kernel/hardware level to tell the phone to turn back on after it’s off!
