https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/cardio-buddy-touchless-camera/id554391046 – need an Apple product. It doesn’t require an add-on attachment. It works with the iPad or iPhone camera! It looks for flush rates in the face that indicate heart rates. Flushes we can’t see…Costs $1.99.

* https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/pulse-phone/id315580736 – Pulse Phone. Uses changes to the finger placed over the camera. $0.99. For iPhone.

* https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=si.modula.android.instantheartrate&feature=search_result# – instant heart rate for Android. Free.

* https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.runtastic.android.heartrate.pro&feature=search_result# -runtastic Heart Rate PRO for Android. Cost $0.99

There are devices and apps available but first tell your smartphone OS please. Solution and availability will depend on device model and OS.

actually u don’t need to connect anything to your phone. all that your phone should have is a camera and an LED flash placed close by and any of these apps that my friends have written about in the comments. and if u don’t have an LED flash in your smartphone then just use any small hand held torch.

the simple logic how the smartphone is able to check your pulse is – the skin on our finger isn’t too thick so light can pass through it (and makes it glow red) and when ever the blood is pumped through the finger it becomes dark for just an instant. so all that the app does is count how many times the finger became dark while glowing in the light in a given period of time.

so use any app – they would all produce about the same result if u have a good camera and some light source
