Darren Reynolds asks:
Hi, I would like to add a white background to an existing image.
By this I mean simulate the effect as if a picture was taken against a white background.
I have Microsoft Expression software but cant work out how to do it..
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

July 11, 2012use photoshop, the best solution to your problem
select the area of the image you want to keep
hit Ctrl + C
it will appear on a new layer
create a new layer and drag it beneath the laer you’ve pasted.
fill the newly created layer with white colour
delete the first layer (the one with the full image not the one you pasted)

July 13, 2012If you don’t have Photoshop, download IrfanView (which is free), and do the following:
1. Open the image
2. Choose Image=>Add border/frame…
3. Choose “Plain White” from the list
4. Set the size of the border (“border 1) in pixels and click [OK]
