Da Homie Spence asks:
My Acer Iconia A500 tablet is stuck on the Acer screen. Whenever I try a factory reset it turns off and on by itself and then stays stuck on the Acer screen. Suggestions anyone?

August 12, 2012A bit more information. Were you trying to root? did this happen out of the blue? Still under warranty?

Also, try the suggestion listed in the link below -

I have tried both of these… Non of them work. When I try to do hard reset it shows erasing cache and erasing user data is turns off and back on and still stays on acer screen.
December 2, 2012Then it might be the hardware related problem. If your tablet is under warranty, get it replaced or atleast ask them to fix it for free.

August 13, 2012It sounds like a software caused boot loop.
If your tab doesn’t progress beyond the Acer logo, it means there’s an
app/process that causes an unrecoverable error, forcing a reboot.
A factory reset (as indicated in the link provided by Susendeep Dutta),
should solve the problem. Unlike other manufacturers, fortunately, Acer
has a pretty good reset option. I believe you should be able to perform
the factory reset by following:
“For
factory reset when the tab is off, turn off screen lock switch. Hold
Vol+ and Power button till tab vibrates. Then turn on and off screen
lock repeatedly until screen shows erasing cache and erasing user data.
Tab is doing factory reset.”
It was mentioned in this forum post. There is also the option of booting into recovery mode and flashing the update.zip from SD card. If you have it available.
Good luck.
